In the late 1980's my Dad started introducing me his investment strategies (which included Real Estate on a very large scale) and this is when my Real Estate career was actually in the making. Dad started developing and investing in Real Estate in the early 1960's, and many of his transactions included the purchase of 2nd trust deeds, distressed properties, and creative ways to make a Real Estate transaction work. So I was exposed to, and was also involved in the Real Estate business quite a few years before making it my profession.
Over the past 14 years as an Agent, my main area of expertise has been marketing and selling distressed properties. When I started in the business, the market was not what it is today. The amount of people in default or in Foreclosure was staggering. Real Estate Agents were bailing out of the business left and right. To stay alive as an Agent in a bad Real Estate market you had to adjust or you failed miserably. I made the necessary adjustments and went on to become very successful in an extremely bad market.
I have been very successful at helping people who were facing Foreclosure to find a way out when they thought there were no options available to them. I get a great deal of satisfaction by helping people who really need my help. Doing Pre-foreclosure and Short Sales lead me to sharpening my negotiation skills as I dealt with banks and lending institutions on a daily basis. I have been called upon by people from the South Bay, San Fernando Valley, Orange County, and San Bernardino County as well as other Agents for my knowledge and expertise in marketing these types of properties and handling these types of transactions. As these types of transactions can be extremely difficult to close, it takes a determined person who will not give up and will never say “never”. I believe the skills I have developed through the years of a very bad Real Estate market can be a huge benefit to you as a buyer or seller in a now transitional Real Estate market.
I left Shorewood Realtors in 1995 to pursue a more creative Real Estate career at a place where I could give my clients more options and flexibility. That place is now King Harbor Realtors-King Harbor Mortgage in Redondo Beach. We are a growing office located in the Redondo Beach Tech Center. We currently have 23 active and experienced agents on board. Our new satellite office called Joshua Tree Realtors-Joshua Tree Mortgage was opened in 2004 to serve the Palmdale/Lancaster area. Our goal is to offer home buyers and sellers top notch service and BIG savings, as well as offering the best rates and programs through our mortgage companies. I believe that a large firm or franchise name have nothing to do with the marketing and sale of your home, or in representing you in a home purchase. It is the individual agent’s knowledge, expertise, commitment, and passion that will get your home SOLD and with the least amount of headaches. The same applies in helping you to make an informed decision when making a home purchase.
I was born in Los Angeles CA. and raised in the South Bay. I have been a resident of South Redondo Beach for 20 years. I enjoy music and am a veteran rock guitarist, love basketball (HUGE Lakers fan!), enjoy Roller Blading at The Strand, and have a passion for classic cars. I founded and organize a Classic Car cruise night which is held at Ruby’s Diner in Redondo Beach called “Cruise At The Beach!”
I look forward to earning your business in 2007!
Darryl
